Follow The Directions

01

Step

Prepare your workstation: Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper. This will prevent the grapes from sticking. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Flavor preparation: Pour each flavor of gelatin into a separate shallow bowl. Ensure the bowls are wide enough to easily roll the grapes. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Lemon Prep: Juice the lemon into a small, shallow bowl. This provides the essential tartness that balances the sweetness of the gelatin. (2 minutes)

04

Step

Grape Transformation: Insert a toothpick into the stem end of one grape. Dip the grape into the lemon juice, allowing any excess to drip off to prevent a soggy coating. (30 minutes)

05

Step

Rolling: Roll the lemon-coated grape in your desired flavor of gelatin until completely and evenly coated. The coating should be generous but not clumpy. (20 minutes)

06

Step

Resting: Transfer the coated grape to the prepared baking sheet, carefully removing the toothpick. Repeat steps 4 and 5 with the remaining grapes, lemon juice, and gelatins. (30 minutes)

07

Step

Chilling: Chill the grapes in the refrigerator or freezer until the gelatin coating is firm and hardened. This will take at least 2 hours. For a firmer coating, freeze for a shorter period. (120 minutes)

For a more vibrant presentation, consider using sanding sugar in addition to or instead of gelatin on some of the grapes.
Experiment with different flavors of gelatin to create a rainbow of colors and tastes.
If you don't have toothpicks, you can use skewers or even just your fingers, but be mindful of creating smooth coatings

Next time, I'm going to try adding a little bit of food coloring to the lemon juice for extra vibrant colors!

I found that freezing them for about an hour gave them the perfect candy-like crunch.
