Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

Prepare the Filling: In a food processor, combine the tofu, yellow onion, green onions, red bell pepper, garlic, mushrooms, tomato, and crumbled bacon. Add the fish sauce, red wine, parsley, salt, pepper, curry powder, mustard powder, dill weed, and ginger. Process until the mixture is relatively smooth, but still retains some texture. (Approximately 5 minutes)

02

Step
2 mins

Wrap the Filling: Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean, flat surface, orienting it as a diamond with one corner pointing towards you. Place 1-2 tablespoons of the tofu mixture slightly below the center of the wrapper. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the left and right corners towards the center, creating an envelope shape. Moisten the top corner of the wrapper with a dab of water and tightly roll up to seal. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling. (Approximately 30-45 minutes)

03

Step
5 mins

Fry the Wraps: In a large, heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer, heat several inches of canola oil to 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the wraps in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. (Approximately 15-20 minutes)

04

Step
1 mins

Drain and Serve: Remove the fried wraps with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot and enjoy immediately.

For a vegetarian option, substitute the bacon with smoked paprika to add a smoky flavor.
Adjust the amount of spices to your liking. Taste the filling before wrapping to ensure it is seasoned to your preference.
Be careful not to overfill the wrappers, as this can cause them to burst during frying.
If you do not have a food processor, you can finely chop all of the ingredients and mix them by hand.
