Follow The Directions

01

Step

Combine cranberries, confectioners' sugar, tangerine zest, tangerine juice, and cinnamon in a non-stick saucepan. (2 minutes)

02

Step

Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer gently until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens, about 15 to 20 minutes.

04

Step

Use a spatula to gently crush any remaining whole cranberries against the side of the saucepan to release their juices. (2 minutes)

05

Step

Remove from heat and let cool completely. The sauce will continue to thicken as it cools.

06

Step

Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 24 hours to allow the flavors to meld. This sauce can be made up to 3 days in advance.

For a smoother sauce, use an immersion blender to partially blend the mixture after cooking.
If you prefer a less sweet sauce, start with 1/2 cup of confectioners' sugar and add more to taste.
A pinch of ground cloves or nutmeg can add warmth and complexity to the flavor profile.
Serve chilled alongside roasted turkey, chicken, or pork.
