Stir in the dry sherry just before serving to brighten the flavors and add a touch of sophistication. (1 minute)

For an even richer flavor, consider using a homemade chicken stock.
When adding the crabmeat, handle it gently to avoid breaking it apart too much.
The sherry can be omitted if preferred, but it adds a lovely complexity to the chowder.
Garnish with a sprinkle of fresh parsley or a drizzle of cream before serving for an elegant presentation.
Serve with crusty bread or oyster crackers for dipping.
