In a separate bowl, whisk the flour into the remaining 1 cup of cold milk until completely smooth, ensuring no lumps remain. Slowly pour the flour mixture into the skillet, stirring constantly to prevent clumping. Reduce the heat to low and simmer gently for a few minutes, or until the gravy has thickened to your desired consistency. (Approximately 3-5 minutes). If the gravy becomes too thick, thin it with a splash of milk. If it's too thin, continue to simmer, allowing excess moisture to evaporate, or whisk in a small amount of additional flour slurry (1 tablespoon flour mixed with 2 tablespoons cold milk). Taste and adjust seasonings as needed before serving hot.
