Follow The Directions

01

Step

Prepare your workspace by lining a baking sheet with parchment paper. This will prevent the cake pops from sticking. (Prep time: 2 minutes)

02

Step

In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the soft sugar cookies and softened cream cheese. Mix on medium speed until the mixture is thoroughly blended and forms a smooth, cohesive dough. (Mixing time: 5-7 minutes)

03

Step

Shape the mixture into twenty-four equal-sized balls, approximately 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Place each ball on the prepared baking sheet, and gently insert a lollipop stick into the center of each one. Transfer the baking sheet to the refrigerator to chill. (Chill time: 10 minutes)

04

Step

While the cake pops are chilling, prepare the candy coating. Place the candy melts in the top of a double boiler set over simmering water. Stir frequently, ensuring to scrape down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula to prevent scorching. Continue stirring until the candy melts are completely smooth and glossy. (Melting time: 3-5 minutes)

05

Step

Remove the chilled cake pops from the refrigerator. Dip each cake pop into the melted candy coating, ensuring it is fully submerged. Allow any excess coating to drip off before returning the cake pop to the lined baking sheet. Immediately sprinkle with multicolored candy sprinkles to add a festive touch. (Dipping and decorating time: 15-20 minutes)

06

Step

Allow the coated cake pops to sit undisturbed until the candy coating has completely set and hardened. This will take approximately 10 minutes at room temperature, or you can expedite the process by placing them back in the refrigerator for a few minutes. (Setting time: 10 minutes)

For best results, ensure the cream cheese is fully softened before mixing. This will help create a smoother, more consistent dough.
If you don't have a double boiler, you can use a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water. Just be sure the bottom of the bowl doesn't touch the water.
Get creative with your decorations! Try using different colors of candy melts, various types of sprinkles, or even edible glitter for a truly unique treat.
Store the finished cake pops in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

My cream cheese was not soft enough, so I had some lumps in my mixture. I will make sure it is perfect next time.
