Delicate and buttery, these Pecan Lace cookies are more akin to a sophisticated confection. With just a whisper of flour, they practically melt in your mouth. Serve them alongside a scoop of vanilla ice cream or fill them with freshly whipped cream for an elegant dessert.

Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease baking sheets. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a medium skillet, combine ground pecans, sugar, butter, and flour. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the butter is melted and the mixture is well blended. Keep the mixture warm over low heat. It will be quite thin. (10 minutes)

03

Step

Drop the mixture by teaspoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 3 inches between each cookie. Bake only four to six cookies per sheet, as they spread significantly. (1 minute)

04

Step

Bake for 5 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool on the baking sheet for one minute. (6 minutes)

05

Step

While still warm and pliable, quickly remove each cookie with a thin spatula and gently curl it around the handle of a wooden spoon or dowel. If the cookies become too brittle to curl, return them to the oven for 30 seconds to soften. (5 minutes)

06

Step

Transfer the curled cookies to a wire rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container to maintain their crispness. (10 minutes)

For best results, use finely ground pecans to create a delicate, lacy texture.
Watch the cookies closely during baking, as they can burn quickly.
Experiment with adding a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the batter for a warm, spiced flavor.
If you don't want to curl the cookies, you can simply let them cool flat on the baking sheet.

I had a little trouble getting them to curl, but returning them to the oven for a few seconds really helped. They were a big hit!

These are amazing! So delicate and delicious. I added a sprinkle of sea salt after baking, which enhanced the flavor beautifully.
